Her mother would talk about the time she came to Los Angeles to work for him, as he had seven desks with seven books he was writing at the same time in a grand home in Los Feliz, CA. Her great-grandfather, Rupert Hughes, wrote over 50 books and was one of the founders of what became The Author’s Guild.
